We proudly present the next Dismal Fate Records release (DFR 039). After the re-release of their first and second demo on tape.... from the USA, here is BodyBag with their long-awaited demo discography "UNZIPPED" on CD for the first time ever. Containing:
Mutilated Beyond Recognition (1992), Severed Existance (1993), Pains from Nausea (1995) and Sickness and Contempt (1999).
21 songs and 60 minutes of putrid brutality.

From The Northwest depths of Portland, Oregon comes the area’s most prominent display of death metal carnage. Bodybag’s original grind-core style has started an uprising of hungry followers.

They played in support of death metal legends Morbid Angel, as well as Suffocation and Dismember. BodyBag has even opened for a lighter side of their niche with "The Organization" (formally Death Angel) tour and have been asked to support acts such as Fear factory and Entombed.

I wouldnt call it blackened death but it certainly has the bleak dark atmosphere akin to Akhlys or Watain while pummeling you with pure death metal and a touch of dissonance and doominess á la Morbid Angel..it really combines almost everything i love about metal and theres not a weak spot on here..their first album was good but this is stylistically much different and a vast improvement. Decent debut from a promising band. For the most part a gnarly hybrid of Autopsy and Entombed, with a lot of good ideas and some fun atmospheric ambient sections. The last track sticks around far too long, but that's the only downer really. Well worth checking out for a good blast of new-old-school. Looking forward to the next release for sure! poisonremedy
